“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 4:3, NIV).
People don’t understand what they’re saying when they tell you, “There is no God. I don’t believe in all that Jesus stuff, and that raised from the dead mumbo jumbo.” They don’t know it but they’re telling you, “I am headed to hell. I’m perishing. If something doesn’t change radically, I’m lost.” So, dear friend, you don’t want to fight with such people; you want to feel sorry for and pray for them. It’s veiled to whom? Those who are perishing (headed to destruction).
Verse 4 says, “The god of this age [Satan] has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Their lives don’t have to end like this.
Neither does yours if this describes you.
But look…
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10, NKJV).
You can make the greatest decision of your life right now. Humble yourself. Come to the Cross of Christ. Turn from your sin. Cry out to the Lord, and pray something like this with all your heart,
“Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you’re the Son of God. I believe that on the Cross, you took my sin, my shame, and my guilt. And you died for it. You faced hell for me so I wouldn’t have to go. You rose from the dead to give me a place in heaven, a purpose on earth, and a relationship with your Father.
Today, Lord Jesus, I turn from my sins to be born again. God is my Father. Jesus is my Savior. The Holy Spirit is my Helper. And Heaven is my home. Lord, I will live for You and I will serve You all the days of my life. Amen and Amen!”
