Cultivate An Attitude of Gratitude

While working out at the gym this morning, I sensed these words deep inside, “Do you want to be a blessing to others and to be blessed as well?” My immediate thought was “Well yeah, of course!” Next I heard this in my spirit, “Then CULTIVATE an Attitude of Gratitude.” Full disclosure here: God knows us intimately and nothing is hidden from Him. This message to my heart was simple, straight to the point, and even blunt, but it was quite sobering, because I have been woefully lacking in this area lately. The time had come for correction from the Lord and immediate repentance on my part.
“Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:9-11).
“In EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name” (Psalm 100:4).
