There are times in life when the Lord uses your spiritual leaders to help you. Ultimately, what you decide to do with this is between yourself and God.
A friend who is a seasoned minister and whom I greatly respect, received a word from the Holy Spirit fairly recently that’s worth repeating, especially today. He said, “Many of My people are not getting the full benefit out of those whom I have called into full-time ministry: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. It’s because they’re not giving them place in their life. That are not listening to or respecting them.”
Granted, the Lord is presently revealing and judging sin among both leaders and laity in His Church, because we know from scripture that “judgment begins in the house of God.”
Nevertheless, our Lord appointed these fivefold ministry offices for your benefit. This is spelled out in God’s Word. specifically in Ephesians 4:11-12, NKJV, .which says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Then again, in Hebrews 13:17-18, AMPC, “Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them [continually recognizing their authority over you], for they are constantly keeping watch over your souls and guarding your spiritual welfare, as men who will have to render an account [of their trust]. [Do your part to] let them do this with gladness and not with sighing and groaning, for that would not be profitable to you [either].
Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honorably and in complete honesty in all things.”
There are no “Lone Ranger Christians.” No man or woman is an island unto themselves. We are brothers and sisters in Christ, and need one another. We are His body on this earth. Let’s get the job done.
